Concrete vs. Wood
Wood is the default. It's cheap, it's familiar, and it's everywhere. But cheap doesn't mean cheap over time. A wood post starts rotting the day it goes in the ground. CCA treatment slows it down but doesn't stop it. Five to fifteen years later, you're pulling it out and starting over. Multiply that across hundreds or thousands of posts and you're looking at a major recurring expense.
| Rot | Rots in 5 to 15 years depending on soil and climate. | Will never rot. Concrete is immune to moisture and biological decay. | |
| Pests | Termites, carpenter ants, and beetles hollow posts from the inside. | Inhospitable to all pests. Nothing eats concrete. | |
| Fire | 100% combustible. Fence line becomes a ring of fire. | Non-combustible. Rated for fire exposure. | |
| Maintenance | Requires staining, treating, and eventual replacement. | Zero maintenance. Set it and forget it. | |
| Organic Farming | CCA-treated wood requires a 3 year transition period. | Qualifies for organic production immediately. | |
| Lifespan | 5 to 15 years. | Lifetime. Guaranteed. | |

Concrete vs. Steel
Steel is strong. It's also expensive, it rusts, and it eventually needs replacing. Harvest Pillar costs less than heavy-duty steel posts upfront and lasts longer with zero maintenance. We're not talking T-posts. We're talking about the heavy-duty steel posts used for serious fence lines, pipe posts, and chain link. The ones that cost real money. Harvest Pillar beats them on price and outlasts them on performance.

| Rust | Galvanized coating fails over time. Corrosion is inevitable. | Will never rust. Concrete doesn't corrode. | |
| Price | Most expensive post option upfront. | Less than steel. More than wood. Best value over time. | |
| Livestock | Handles moderate pressure. Can bend under sustained load. | Built for 1,200 pounds of livestock and the post stays put. | |
| Gates | Corrodes at mounting points. Gate hardware loosens. | Stays true. Gate hangs clean year after year. | |
| Maintenance | Requires painting and rust inspection. | Zero. Nothing. | |
| Lifespan | 15 to 25 years. | Lifetime. Guaranteed. | |

How It's Made.
Prestressed concrete is not regular concrete. It's the same technology used in bridges, highway overpasses, and water infrastructure. The prestressing process is what makes the post flex under load instead of cracking.
This technology has been standard in European agricultural since the 1960's. Italian manufacturers have been producing concrete trellis and fence posts for vineyards, orchards, and farms for over 60 years. Jensen brought the proven approach to the U.S.
1. Steel Cables Are Tensioned.
Four strands of braided high-carbon steel cable are stretched under extreme tension across 240-foot casting beds. The cable is the backbone of every post.
2. Concrete is Poured
Portland cement mixed with natural gravel and sand is poured around the tensioned cables in precision molds and allowed to cure.
3. Cables are Released.
When the cables are cut, they recoil into the concrete and compress it. This compression, called prestressing, is what gives the post its strength and flexibility. It flexes under load instead of cracking.
4. Cut, Inspected, Shipped.
Posts are cut to your specified height, inspected for quality, and shipped. Custom lengths are available. Every post leaves the facility ready to install.

Lifetime Warranty
Every Harvest Pillar post is backed by a lifetime warranty against rot, rust, and fire. No exceptions. No fine print. No expiration date.
We can offer this because the product doesn't fail. Prestressed concrete doesn't rot. It doesn't rust. It doesn't burn. The warranty isn't marketing. It's a statement of fact about the material.
Wood post manufacturers don't offer lifetime warranties because they can't. Steel post manufacturers offer limited warranties because the corrosion is inevitable. We offer a lifetime warranty because concrete is concrete.
Sustainable by Default
Harvest Pillar posts are made from natural materials. Portland cement, natural gravel, sand and steel. No chemical treatments. No toxic preservatives. No CCA. Because they last a lifetime, they break the replacement cycle that sends millions of wood posts to landfills every year. Less waste. Fewer trucks. Less deforestation from harvesting replacement posts.
They qualify for organic farming immediately with no transition period. And when a post eventually reaches end of life decades from now, the concrete is fully recyclable.
