Trellis posts fail. Your harvest pays for it.

Wood rots underground.

CCA-treated posts break down in the soil. Fungal growth, insect infestation, structural failure. You're replanting into a system that's already decaying.

Steel rusts and corrodes.

Moisture eats through coatings over times. Posts weaken under the tension your trellis demands. Replacement disrupts your growing cycle.

You replace them.

Over 20 to 30 years, most growers rebuild their trellis system 3 to 5 times. The posts, the labor, the downtime. Every cycle costs you a season.

Proven overseas. Now made in America.

Prestressed concrete trellis posts have been the standard in European agriculture since the 1960's. Italian manufacturers have been producing tens of thousands of concrete posts per day for vineyards and orchards across Europe for over 60 years. In Italy, wood posts are the exception, not the rule. This isn't new technology. It's established, field-tested, and proven on millions of acres overseas. Jensen brought that same approach to the U.S. with Harvest Pillar, manufacturing prestressed concrete trellis posts at our facility in Kingsburg, California using European-made equipment and methods. The same material used in bridges, water systems, and utility structures. Now sized for trellis work on your land.

Applications

Built for Long rows

Recurring maintenance and labor costs from replacing and repairing trellis systems add up fast. Harvest Pillar resists the pests, diseases, rust, and toxins that destroy wood and steel setups. Holds wire tension across long runs without leaning or shifting. Set your trellis once and focus on growing.

Designed with Sustainability in Mind

Propping up orchards takes a toll on your trellis system. Harvest Pillar will last as long as the tree it's supporting, so all you need to worry about is taking care of your harvest.

Your Yard, Your Custom Posts

Hop Yards require taller posts than orchards or vineyards. Harvest Pillar allows posts with custom lengths up to 24' tall, ensuring your harvest is your main focus.

We've Got You Covered.

Need to make sure your crops are staying covered during the summer? Harvest Pillar supports a multitude of shade and canopy accessories, making sure you won't break a sweat.

Advantages

  • Weather Proof

    Wood

Warps, cracks, and rots due to recurring weather events annually.

    Steel

Bends, corrodes, and rusts when subject to moisture over time.

    Concrete

Withstands most weather conditions with little impact for decades.
  • Pest and Disease Resistant

    Wood

Subject to repeated insect infestation, fungal growth, and mold invasion.

    Steel

Generally pest resistant, but conducive to microbial growth when rust forms.

    Concrete

Inhospitable to pests and immune to fungi, molds, and bacteria.
  • Environmental Impact

    Wood

Repeated replacement can contribute to deforestation and habitat loss.

    Steel

Needs to be examined regularly for strength and prone to rust and corrosion over time.

    Concrete

Lower likelihood of contributing to environmental concerns like deforestation and mining.
  • Maintenance and Longevity

    Wood

Ongoing maintenance required along with eventual breakdown and replacement.

    Steel

Needs to be examined regularly for strength and prone to rust and corrosion over time.

    Concrete

Virtually maintenance free and structural integrity remains durable for decades.
  • Organic Compatibility

    Wood

CCA-treated wood requires a three-year transition period before qualifying for organic certification.

    Steel

No transition period, but coatings and maintenance chemicals may raise compliance concerns.

    Concrete

Qualifies for organic production immediately. No transition period. No chemical treatments.

How Harvest Pillar is Made.

Prestressed, precast concrete. The same proven technology used in bridges and highway structures, sized for agriculture.

Steel Cables Stretched

Four strands of braided high-carbon steel cable are stretched 18 inches beyond the 240-foot casting beds.

Concrete Poured

Portland cement, natural gravel, and sand are poured around the tensioned cables and allowed to cure.

Cables Released

When the cables are cut, they recoil and compress the concrete. This prestressing gives each post its strength and flexibility.

Cut to Length

Posts are cut to your specified height. Custom lengths available. Every post is inspected before shipping.

Trusted by Farms across the West.

Harvest Pillar precast concrete posts are field-tested and proven. Used on thousands of acres across the West, they hold up under real-world demands, year after year.

Built by Jensen. Backed by experience.

Jensen Infrastructure has delivered trusted precast solutions since 1968. Over 900 employees across multiple facilities in the Western U.S. Every product is made in America.

Why growers are switching to concrete.

No Rot. No Rust.

Wood fails underground. Steel corrodes above it. Concrete doesn't have either problem. It handles moisture, pests, and time.

Organic Compatible.

Qualifies for organic production immediately. No three year transition period required like CCA-treated wood posts.

Lifetime Warranty

Every post. No exceptions. Built to outlast the vineyard or orchard it supports. You buy it once, you install it once.

Lower Lifetime Cost.

Higher upfront. But over 20 to 30 years, wood gets replaced 3 to 5 times. The posts, the labor, the time. Every cycle.

Reusable and Moveable

Pull them and move them. Replant a block and take your posts with you. Try that with rotted wood.

Uniform and Interchangeable.

Consistent dimensions mean brackets and accessories work across your entire operation. No post-to-post variation.

What Growers are Saying

What Your Operation Looks Like When You Stop Replacing Posts.

Straight trellis lines across every row. No leaning. No rot at the base. No mid-season repairs. Your system holds for the life of the vineyard. You spend your time growing, not fixing.

The Math on Trellis Posts.

A wood trellis costs less up front. But most vineyards and orchards outlast their posts by decades. You end up replacing them 3 to 5 times.

Wood Posts

Lifetime: 5 to 15 years

Replacements:  3 to 5 times over 50 years

Lowest upfront. Highest lifetime.

Steel Posts

Lifespan: 15 to 25 years

Replacements: 1 to 3 times over 50 years

Moderate upfront. High lifetime.

Harvest Pillar

Lifespan: Lifetime. Guaranteed.

Replacements: Once. That's it.

Higher upfront. Lowest lifetime.

Fencing

Take a Look at Harvest Pillar’s Other Applications.

The same prestressed concrete that outlasts trellis posts also outlasts fence posts. Ranch, residential, commercial, farm. One install. Lifetime warranty.
